We do of course understand a lithium-ion battery is a costly purchase. A KS Energy 100Ah battery has an RRP of £695. But with an average lifespan exceeding 10 years you will end up spending the same sum over this period for a less reliable and usable leisure battery, is that really worth it?
There are already considerable restrictions on the use of lead and its disposal due to its toxic effect on living organisms and human health. Taking into account environmental considerations, it is expected that the manufacture and use of lead-acid batteries will be increasingly legislated against, to the point where restrictions on their use will mean all motorhomes will eventually have to adopt this superior technology.
