Helena Sanderson: Adventures In History

I'm an experienced genealogist, oral historian, local history researcher and heritage creative practitioner. Most of my research is carried out throughout the historic counties of Lancashire, Westmorland and Cumberland. With over twenty-five years’ experience of family tree research, I'm expertly placed to investigate your family’s history. I have an MA (Merit) in History and over twenty years' experience of genealogical research.

My current projects include facilitating oral history projects for the National Trust in the Lake District, and the Woodland Trust in Lancashire. I'm an experienced and sympathetic interviewer, and love recording stories and memories that can be kept by families forever.

My historical research projects have included an investigation into changes to farming during the nineteenth century in Haslingden, Lancashire, and an exploration of the effects of the Industrial Revolution in Innerleithen, Scottish Borders.

I also work with heritage organisations to research and develop the social and personal aspects of the histories of their properties and the people connected with them. I've written scripts for augmented realities, devised talks and presentations and taken workshops.
