We have a Buddhist prayer room, for residents who wish to worship and have a Vietnamese monk who comes to visit us every quarter running a session on health promotion and health education. Activities include: • Weekly tai-chi session for residents and friends - also popular with non-Vietnamese • Meditation • Buddhist worship • Quarterly Health Promotion & Health Education seminar • Quarterly Elderly Luncheon for residents and the local Vietnamese community members • Christmas celebration • Annual cultural events, eg VuLan Ceremony and Moon Festival
Yes, we have a guest room, so visiting friends and family have a place to stay.
Our dedicated and caring staff prepare two delicious home cooked meals a day and can assist residents who need a little bit more support with their daily needs. Our two Vietnamese chefs provide freshly cooked food which is colourful, nutritional and traditional Vietnamese fare.
For security and peace of mind, we have three Vietnamese staff members who provide a 24-hour service and staff take residents to their medical appointments.
An Lac is set close to the centre of Cambridge; the perfect destination to roam around the cobbled streets, peruse the local markets, watch some punting on the side of the river, enjoy a picnic on Cambridge’s stunning green spaces or explore the world famous university buildings. We have a number of local amenities nearby to An Lac House including a post office, shops, health centre and bus stop just outside the stunning front gates of the house.
We have ten spacious ground floor apartments, fully furnished with telephone and television sockets, en-suite facilities and kitchenette. We encourage all of our residents to bring their own furniture and personal items to make it feel like their home. Each room has access to their own beautiful patio area, overlooking the well-maintained gardens, with many residents choosing to grow their own vegetables and flowers.
We welcome any person aged 55 years and over to live at Abbeyfield - whether you want to downsize, simply want to live in companionship with others, or no longer feel able to continue living in your own home.
