How much does living at Buckmaster House cost?
From ÂŁ2,379 - ÂŁ2,724 per month, please contact Buckmaster House for more information.
How do I apply to become a resident?
Once you've found a home you'd like to move into, you can get in touch directly with the house. Please email or call to arrange a visit and find out more information.
Can my family visit?
Yes – family and friends are welcome to visit you whenever suits, after all, this is your home.
What activities are there for residents to enjoy?
We like to ensure that our residents have a range of activities and entertainment to get them involved, joining in and getting to know other residents, as the community and social aspect of the house is very important. We encourage our residents to suggest activities, events and outings they might like to go on and do our best to make sure we fulfill all of their wishes. Activities in the house include knit and natter, bingo, poetry, health and beauty treatments from a manicurist, hairdresser and chiropodist, and crosswords. We like to get out too with trips to the cinema, local garden centre, and of course the beach.
Are meals provided at Buckmaster House?
We provide breakfast, lunch, evening meal and afternoon cake to all residents daily.
What's in the local area?
Excellently positioned, Buckmaster House is close to the town centre, and only a short walk from the beach, restaurants and shops. There’s also very good transport links to London from the local train station. Broadstairs has a strong historical connection with the author Charles Dickens and you’ll find Dickens House and Bleak House just a few minutes walk from us. The timeless beauty of Viking Bay, with it’s magnificent horseshoe shaped bay and cliff top promenades, or stunning Victoria Gardens, which has beautifully laid out gardens overlooking the sea and harbour, are also within walking distance and are the ideal choice of place to go when you have visiting family and friends.
What will my room look like?
We have 21 en-suite rooms, two of which could accommodate a couple, and come fully furnished. We encourage residents to bring some of your favourite pieces with you to make your room feel like home.
Can I move in with my husband/wife?
We have two en-suite rooms which would be suitable for a couple.
What age do I need to be to live in an Abbeyfield retirement home?
We welcome any person aged 55 years and over to live at Abbeyfield - whether you want to downsize, simply want to live in companionship with others, or no longer feel able to continue living in your own home.
