About Lune Valley Pods

Lune Valley pods has evolved since 2003 from a timber building manufacturer to become the premier camping pod producer in the UK. Our family business, having produced timber buildings, saw a gap in the market for what we once called a "wooden tent". This concept had a distinctive arch shape, which remains a key feature of all our designs as they have evolved into larger and more bespoke living and working spaces for personal use and the glamping industry. Our first prototype is still standing and is a very small version of what we now produce. What we have learnt is that whilst we have a bank of design templates, each customer requirement is a little different, so all our pods can be adapted whilst continuing to be designed around the iconic arch and its unique dimensions.

We understand how overwhelming your glamping idea can be and we know you have 101 questions that you would love to know the answers to but have no idea where to get them from. Our Feasibility Study was created to answer every one of these questions. So many people come to us with questions relating to their glamping vision that we now offer a bespoke product, tailored to your location and concept. This gives you the tools to decide if a glamping site on your land is a good idea or not. Feasibility studies are priced at £450 and will be refunded if you are successful in gaining planning permission and buy pods from ourselves.
We have some great contacts, who can help assist you in the planning process, if you so wish. Details can be provided upon request. With regards to preparing your land to place the pod on, we would recommend a 6-inch concrete slab. Waste - we advise our customers to speak with their contractors regarding waste. It may also be useful to contact your local council for advice. They will then give correct instruction such whether this would be via mains drain/septic tank or sewage system.
Our pods require 52 amps if running an electric heater or 32 amps if running on a gas heater. Below is the loading capacity for each consumer unit depending on which water heater you choose. Hyco electric water heater option:- 1 x 63 Amp Circuit Breaker - RCCD (30 miliAmp) 1 x 50 Amp Circuit Breaker - 50 Amp 2 gang switch for Hyco 1 x 32 Amp Circuit Breaker - Electric sockets and Panel heater, Appliances, Electric towel rail (Ring Main) 3 x 6 Amp Circuit Breaker. - Wall lights, Downlights, Smoke Alarm Rinnai LPG water heater option:- 1 x 63 Amp Circuit Breaker - RCCD (30 miliAmp) 1 x 32 Amp Circuit Breaker - Electric sockets and Panel heater, Appliances, Electric towel rail (Ring Main) 1 x 16 Amp Circuit Breaker - Socket for LPG water heater 3 x 6 Amp Circuit Breaker. - Wall lights, Downlights, Smoke Alarm
Once you have confirmed you are interested in one of our products, we will be in touch to discuss what it is you would like to do next. One of the team would usually then complete a telephone consultation with you or invite you to the workshop, dependant on your situation. Some customers do both. We will discuss what it is you would like within your product and discuss all the options with you. Following this, you will be provided with your drawing plans and quote. During this process, we would want to arrange when you would expect to have your pod and slot your order into the calendar, obviously the more pods ordered requires longer. In some instances, we deliver over a period of time, maybe two pods and then another to follow. We have all faced challenges and have had to adapt to life in the current Covid-19 pandemic. However, we are confident that we are organised and pleased to have the production of our pods, running smoothly.
Our Britmet roof tiles come in a choice of either Brown, Grey or Green and include a 40-year warranty. We also provide a 10-year manufacturing structural guarantee. Canexel cladding or Timber? Our Canexel cladding is becoming increasingly popular, due to the zero maintenance it requires, in comparison to the timber, which requires annual maintenance. We have a range of colours to choose from, in the Canexel range making your pod bespoke to you.
Deciding to purchase your very own pod, is a very exciting time for our customers and we love to have you involved. We welcome customers to our workshop (arranged by appointment) which gives you opportunity to see some of our products being manufactured as well as discuss some of the more exciting parts of having your very own pod, such as deciding on finishing touches, such as work tops, colours and so forth.
Delivery of our pods is via our Hiab wagon and cost is dependent on post code. Please note some of our larger sized pods come in two parts and would therefore require joining on site.
We would ask that a 20% deposit of your overall balance is paid when ordering and the remaining balance is paid three weeks, prior to delivery. Please respect the amount of time and cost of materials that is put into manufacturing your pod. We put 100% effort into designing your pod and therefore, unfortunately any cancellation of orders or non-payment of balance will result in your deposit being lost. We strongly advise customers not to take bookings on their pods until we have at least confirmed we have started the manufacturing process. This is to avoid disappointment if there is a delay in getting materials etc.
