This is a serious warning.
Martin Peter Allsopp was paid over £6000, to sort out some drainage in the basement of a block of flats. No idea what he did - but the situation is far worse now, that it was before. We have light fixings in the ceiling which have filled up with urine, toilets which fill up with urine when left unattended, leaks going into bedrooms, a strong smell of sewage in bedrooms, and even have damaged flooring.
Martin Allsop promised to attend our building on the following dates, to fix the problems he caused. Not only did he not show up, he didn’t even have the manners to tell us that he wasn’t going to. When questioned, he would usually pretend that absolutely nobody was in (which given there were four flats which needed assistance, is unlikely), or that the traffic was bad.

Martin was then sent a polite, but direct, email, stating that legal action would be taken against him, if he did not fix the issues he caused. He replied with:
“We have worked on that building non stop all hours of the day access has been ridiculous making jobs go over by not just hours or days but by weeks I understand sometimes there's little errors and they are very little errors but I don't appreciate how the blame has been passed onto ourself when we didn't suggest this units we was asked to install these and they all run as they should I've been back to two that one had a kids toy in and the other had wipes in I understand this isn't your issue however this is further work me and my team have to do for free and then we get threatened by legal action something I don't appreciate therefore find your self a new contractor and send all legal information over by email I'll have my solicitor look into this and let him decide what to do next thankyou”
Notes about Martin’s Comments:
1) He’s described toilets which fill up with urine when left unattended, light fixings that fill with urine, the smell of sewage in bedrooms as ‘very little errors’. There are other problems too (such as him badly installing plug sockets at floor level between showers and toilets - around three inches between each), which I don’t have the word count to go into.
2) The main thing to take away from this is the whole “therefore find yourself a new contractor” line. Fair enough if he doesn’t want to do any more work for us - but basically he’s just made the situation worse and run off with thousands of pounds. Martin is basically the plumbing equivalent of someone who knocks on your door, asking if you want your ‘drive done mate’.
All he has done is punished the tenants whose apartments he left in a far worse state than he found them. He’s not punishing me (I don’t live there); he’s not punishing the management company; he’s literally punishing tenants, whom he personally assured he would fix the damage he caused in their apartments. They have been left with toilets not attached to the walls, with broken bath panels, leaks etc.
When I have attempted to call him, I’ve been blocked. He’s not even man enough to discuss the issue.
I accept that Martin does not have the technical skills or emotional maturity to fix any of the problems he’s caused. He also doesn’t have the courage to face the tenants, whose property he has damaged with human waste. However, he does have the ability to unblock me, and discuss having an alternative contractor fix the issues he has caused.
I’d strongly warn people against using Martin. The best thing I can say about his is that he is an incompetent, deluded coward. In reality, I personally believe that he is a conman.
