About Lush Cosmetics Hanley

We believe in making effective products from fresh, organic fruit and vegetables, the finest essential oils and safe synthetics. We invent our own products and fragrances. We make them fresh by hand using little or no preservative or packaging, using only vegetarian ingredients, and tell you when they were made. We believe in buying ingredients only from companies that do not commission tests on animals and in testing our products on humans. We believe in happy people making happy soap, putting our faces on our products and making our mums proud. It depends on what you are sensitive to. All our ingredients are clearly labeled in English on the packaging. In cases where the product is naked, the ingredients are on the signage. There is an ingredient guide on the website which has more information on the ingredients and where they come from. If you are unsure what exactly you are sensitive to, our products are generally regarded as great for sensitive skin. Lush source as many ingredients from nature as possible but you may want to get the advice of a sales assistant beforehand and we may be able to sort a trial sample too.
We have a product called Charity Pot. All sales of this lotion (minus VAT) will go straight to grassroots charities. If you have a charity which can benefit from this fund, there are application forms on Lush.com. We also do regular charity events and campaigns which raise money for human rights, animal protection and environmental issues around the world. We no longer give product donations for fundraising purposes (e.g. for a raffle prize). Instead we prefer to donate products directly to charities who have clients who will use our products - e.g women's refuges, homeless shelters, hospices or refugee groups. Please enquire at your local shop if you are involved in a group like this. Please note that Lush is a vegetarian company, and these values also extend to the charities we support. We do not donate to charities that conduct or fund animal testing; this applies to most medical charities.

Our quietest shopping times tends to the be first and last hour on weekdays. We also participate in the centre's autism hour. This is a quiet hour during the first Monday of every month, between the hours 4pm and 5pm. This is when shops reduce light levels and turn off music for a less stressful experience.
Snow Fairy products are a seasonal range. You can buy Snow Fairy on the run up to Christmas/Yule. So from around the end of September to the end of December. Snow Fairy scent is available all year round in the form of Bubblegum Lipscrub. We also have plenty of wonderful, iconic Shower Gels and Body Sprays for you to try while you are waiting for Snow Fairy to return.
Lush is a vegetarian company, but we’re not completely vegan. At present, around 80% of our products are suitable for vegans, but there are a few ingredients like milk, honey, lanolin and eggs, which are beneficial for the skin or hair, and which we use in some of our products. However, we always keep vegans in mind when formulating new products, and we try to ensure that there is a vegan alternative available in all of our different ranges. All our vegan products are clearly marked, so you can make an informed choice about the products you use.
