What activities are there for residents to enjoy?
We live and breathe the Abbeyfield ethos, so activities are a big part of life at our house. We host lots of different activities throughout the week and invite the local community in to the house for our larger monthly events. Residents often suggest new ideas for activities and these are always rotated in where possible. Some of our favourite events include:• Coffee morning every Friday • Games afternoon every Thursday • Bingo, with prizes to be won • Cheese and wine night • Jigsaw library • Exercise classes
Are meals provided at Abbeyfield House?
Our housekeeper is a brilliant cook providing delicious meals daily.
Does Abbeyfield House have a lift?
Yes, our home has a lift to aid mobility.

Does Abbeyfield House have laundry facilities?
Laundry facilities are available for use by all residents, but help is provided by our staff if needed. Washing powder is provided but we often find residents have their favourite brands so use their own.
What security is available for residents?
Pendant alarms are issued to every resident living at Abbeyfield House to alert staff at Tunstall if you fall or need urgent help. Our housekeeper also lives on site and is on hand to assist residents throughout the day.
What will my room look like?
In total we have seven en-suite bedrooms, plus an extra living space for our live-in housekeeper. All rooms come unfurnished allowing residents to bring their favourite pieces of furniture, ornaments, photos and trinkets from home. Residents are also welcome to decorate their room to their taste. Each room has a compact kitchenette space complete with kettle, toaster, fridge and sink.
What age do I need to be to live in an Abbeyfield retirement home?
We welcome any person aged 55 years and over to live at Abbeyfield - whether you want to downsize, simply want to live in companionship with others, or no longer feel able to continue living in your own home.
