Are meals provided?
We provide two tasty meals every day served in our communal dining room. The menu is varied, wholesome and appealing and the food is home-cooked, taking into account any dietary requirements. Chicken curry, homemade soups and Mediterranean salad with tomato and mozzarella are some of the residents’ favourite meals, but nothing tops pan-fried sea bass with baby new potatoes, creamed leeks and asparagus.
What extra support is there for residents?
Help with daily activities such as cleaning and laundry can be organised for you.
What security is there for residents?
The housekeeper has a flat, which is incorporated in the house, meaning there is always someone at the house overnight, providing peace of mind and extra security.
What will my room be like?
Originally designed to cater for nine residents whilst also having a guest room, an extension was added to the property meaning the house now comfortably provides accommodation for 11 residents. It is fully accessible to service users with physical disabilities with a lift and a stair lift between floors. All but two of the rooms have full en-suite bathrooms, and there is also a small kitchenette, allowing you to remain independent and to entertain visiting friends and family. Our rooms come unfurnished to allow you to bring your favourite personal items and possessions. Help with daily activities such as cleaning and laundry can be organised for you.

Abbeyfield House is situated close to the town centre of Knutsford, with easy access to shops, churches, restaurants and banks. You’ll discover a bustling community in Knutsford; it has an attractive town centre with great charm where you’ll find a diverse range of shops and an extensive choice of restaurants and bars. Famously, it is also the childhood home of Elizabeth Gaskill, who wrote the novel Cranford.
