Do I have to provide my contact details when I visit a Wimpy?
Although there is no longer a legal requirement to keep a record of all customers, visitors and staff over the age of 16 who have visited the premises for 21 days for Test and Trace purposes, we have retained the QR code for customers to check-in should they wish. Venues will not ask customers for Covid status certification.
Do all Wimpy restaurants promote regular and thorough handwashing by employees and customers?
Yes. We continue to offer sanitising hand dispensers for drivers, staff and customers. Staff also have access to places where they can wash their hands with soap and water at regular intervals.
What is contact-free delivery?
Contact-free delivery service allows customers and riders to request in the app that food is left safely on the doorstep. We are working closely with delivery partners to ensure that any risk to their drivers, and to our customers, is kept to an absolute minimum. All Wimpy restaurants have been advised to continue with contact-free handover and social distancing, by creating separate hand-off and waiting areas. All orders leave the kitchen in sealed bags – our Wimpy sticker on your bag shows it has not been tampered with and is safe.
What additional safety protocols have been put in place where my food is being prepared?
All restaurants have been advised to continue following the increased cleaning and sanitising process implemented at the start of the pandemic. Kitchen surfaces and utensils are washed and sanitised on a regular basis. All kitchen staff thoroughly wash their hands at regular intervals. All delivery orders leave the kitchen in sealed bags – our Wimpy sticker on your bag shows it has not been tampered with and is safe.
Is there a limit on how many people can visit Wimpy?
Although there are no legal restrictions on capacity limits or social distancing rules to enforce, we will continue to monitor seating arrangements and maintain distances between dining parties where possible. There is no limit to how many people can be seated on one table. We have advised restaurants to retain a designated waiting and pick up zone for delivery drivers, to limit the contact with customers.
What additional measures have Wimpy introduced in response to Covid-19 to keep customers and employees safe?
All team members have been trained in the range of operational changes and protective measures that were implemented across our restaurant estate at the start of the pandemic. All our restaurants have been advised to retain hand sanitiser dispensers for customers and drivers to use during their visit. Perspex screens are fitted to counters where transactions occur, and for the time being these will remain in place at many of our restaurants. We also encourage contactless card payment.
Do I have to wear a face mask when I visit Wimpy?
In accordance with the latest government regulations, customers and staff are no longer required to wear a mask indoors. However, we respect the choice to continue to wear a mask when working, visiting, or dining at Wimpy.
