We organise a range of different activities for you to get involved with if you wish, such as quiz nights, film afternoons and talks from interesting speakers. We have a mobile library that calls to the house on a regular basis, allowing you to choose your old favourite books to read or discover new titles. We understand the importance of keeping fit and healthy in later, therefore we offer a chair aerobics class each week in the house which residents really enjoy.
Our housekeeper is a brilliant cook providing two meals daily.
Our guest facilities make it easy for your friends, family and loved ones to stay over if they wish.
Yes – family and friends are welcome to visit you whenever suits, after all, this is your home.
You are more than welcome to bring your own car and there is parking available.
Castle View House is located in the heart of the Ribble Valley, an area well known for its natural beauty. There are many restaurants and pubs nearby if you feel like venturing out for some lunch or an evening meal. We are close to the train and bus stations and many independent shops and cafes. Clitheroe holds a Jazz festival in May and a food Festival in August which we enjoy visiting. The town is a popular tourist destination as people enjoy exploring the surrounding countryside and going for walks to take in the sights and visit some of the historical landmarks.
There are 10 studio-style rooms, each with an ensuite shower and kitchenette. The rooms are unfurnished ready for you to bring your own furniture and belongings to create your own home.
We welcome any person aged 55 years and over to live at Abbeyfield - whether you want to downsize, simply want to live in companionship with others, or no longer feel able to continue living in your own home.
